Vapochromic Soft Crystals Constructed with Metal Complexes

چکیده

Abstract Vapochromism, a phenomenon in which the color or luminescence of substance changes response to gaseous molecules, has potential for developing sensor materials detect harmful substances environment. In addition, vapochromism is scientifically interesting direct visualization interactions between gases and solids. The crystals metal complexes involve diverse flexible electronic interactions, such as metal–metal metal–ligand interactions. It expected that slight structural will lead distinct emission changes, thus achieving highly sensitive selective vapochromic responses. Consequently, ordered systems (i.e., soft crystals) can be constructed. This chapter introduces attractive features vapor-responsive by discussing platinum show dilute vapor atmospheres while maintaining an structure, nickel(II) change magnetic properties conjunction with change, copper(I) N-heteroaromatic vapors.

Experimental Section Cross-polarised optical microscopy was performed using an Olympus BH-2 microscope coupled to a Leica DM-IRB digital camera. The gel samples were sealed two glass plates using vacuum grease to enable aging observations. Small angle X-ray scattering (SAXS) experiments were performed using a rotating anode with a copper target (λ = 1.54 Å). The distance between the sample and ...

Sn(IV) Compounds Interaction with Metal-Schiff Base Complexes

The formation constants and Gibbs free energy for the interaction of RnSnClm (n = m = 2, R = Me, Ph, n-Bu or n = 4, m = 0, R = Ph) compounds as acceptors, with ML complexes (H2L = N,N'-bis(salicylidene)-2-aminobenzylamine (salabza-H2) and its derivatives, M = Mn2+ or Zn2+), as donors in N,N'-dimethylformamide (DMF) as solvent were studied. These parameters were measured by using UV-vis spectrop...

Formation of racemic crystals of transition metal complexes by grinding 1 : 1 mixtures of enantiomeric crystals.

Grinding a 1 : 1 enantiomeric mixture of chiral transition metal complex crystals and subsequent annealing afforded crystals of a racemic compound by diffusion and rearrangement of component molecules, without melting and without racemization of each enantiomeric species.

Anisotropic elastic properties of flexible metal-organic frameworks: how soft are soft porous crystals?

We performed ab initio calculations of the elastic constants of five flexible metal-organic frameworks (MOFs): MIL-53(Al), MIL-53(Ga), MIL-47, and the square and lozenge structures of DMOF-1. Tensorial analysis of the elastic constants reveals a highly anisotropic elastic behavior, some deformation directions exhibiting very low Young's modulus and shear modulus. This anisotropy can reach a 400...

Targeting proteins with metal complexes.

Unique properties of metal complexes, such as structural diversity, adjustable ligand exchange kinetics, fine-tuned redox activities, and distinct spectroscopic signatures, make them exciting scaffolds not only for binding to nucleic acids but increasingly also to proteins as non-traditional targets. This feature article discusses recent trends in this field. These include the use of chemically...
